Urban Ocean Lab were looking for support in positioning their brand as “the think tank for the future of coastal cities”.
As a forward-thinking, solution-focused organisation wanting to share resources that proactively advance ocean-climate policy, the team needed an updated website design and experience to actively connect and share resources with a wide range of audiences.
A key challenge of this was to create an accessible and user-friendly resource hub that would house their upcoming Climate Readiness Framework, along with supporting resources such as factsheets, case studies, articles, and legislative documents.
Blending data, design and tech, we created a new website with an open-access digital resource hub at its centre. The site itself prioritises accessibility for a wide range of audiences and was guided by a new bold and modern visual identity, created in partnership with Gabrielle Merite.
We worked with the Urban Ocean Lab team to understand their needs now and for the future in terms of resources, content and functionality, while creating design assets and technical features to launch the Resource Hub and Climate Readiness Framework.
Our comprehensive identity guide and concepts set out the new visual identity and framework for Urban Ocean Lab, including logo, colours, typography, photography, data visualisation, illustration and iconography.
It’s an exciting partnership that we’re continuing to grow and expand upon beyond the initial brief.
