You can take your car in for an MOT although there’s no such service for your home. But perhaps there should be. Insurance company LV= conducted research that found 77% of homeowners have experienced home maintenance issues. As part of a broader campaign, LV= wanted to create an interactive tool that would illustrate the most common issues arising in each room of the home and enable consumers to be informed on what to do.
infogr8 delivered a user-centric interactive tool allowing the user to explore different rooms and fix the various issues that will arise in an engaging home environment. First, the content was edited to meet some standardised guidelines we put in place pulling out the most relevant and interesting statistics from LV’s survey data. We collaborated with LV= and communications agency Third City to develop and refine it with consumers and publishers in mind. The next stage was prototyping the user journey and visual assets in static form, before moving onto the development phase where we built the interactive, adding clickable and animated elements – note the wagging dog tail!
We created an interactive home maintenance guide. The user is led along a journey through an imaginary home. As they move from one room to another, they can hover over and click on different items to discover the most common maintenance issues – everything from draughts to condensation to leaky roofs – and
how to deal with them.
