When CyberSeek first launched nearly a decade ago, it set a standard for how data could inform workforce decisions. Designed to close the growing cybersecurity workforce gap in the U.S., it provided a first-of-its-kind view into the job market, turning rich labour data into clear, accessible insight.

With close to 1 million visits per year, it’s a go-to resource for the cybersecurity industry, and we’re proud to relaunch it with a bold new design, a refined user experience, and media-rich storytelling. The platform has evolved, but its core remains – a clear picture of the cybersecurity workforce, entries and pathways in and where to gain key credentials. All the while continuing our longstanding partnership with CompTIA and Lightcast to ensure CyberSeek meets the moment: more dynamic, inclusive, and intelligent than ever before.

Here’s how we helped reimagine CyberSeek and what it reveals about designing future-fit data products.

An focus on clarity and end user experience

At the heart of the redesign was a simple principle: start with end users. We built around the needs of three core audiences; career seekers, educators, and workforce planners, each with different goals, literacy levels, and contexts.

To guide users more clearly, we introduced a 1-2-3 journey that tightly integrates CyberSeek’s three key tools:

  1. Supply/Demand heat map – to understand regional trends
  2. Career pathway – to explore roles and opportunities
  3. Interactive training and education finder – to go deeper into specifics

This streamlined structure helps users move from awareness to action — whether that’s finding a new career path, designing a training programme, or shaping workforce policy.

From data to decisions through design

The new CyberSeek combines modular UX design, contextual insights, and intuitive navigation to surface intelligence faster. We added a global insight layer on the homepage to contextualize U.S. cybersecurity challenges within broader trends, helping users understand how their decisions fit within a shifting global market.

We  introduced media-rich content — showing lived experiences of real people in cybersecurity roles. This brings the data to life and makes it easier for users to imagine their next step.

A growing influence: from national tool to global reference point

CyberSeek’s design evolution reflects its growing influence. It’s no longer just a U.S. resource, it’s become a template for localized and international adaptation.

  • Indiana launched a state-specific version tailored to regional data
  • Australia developed a national adaptation to reflect their own cyber workforce dynamics
  • FinanceSeek, a parallel tool, applied the model to the financial sector

Each one builds on CyberSeek’s foundation — proof that clear structure, intelligent design, and human-centered UX can scale meaningfully.

From interactive dashboard to intelligent system – where the future lies

CyberSeek’s relaunch is a testament in how proven tools can be reimagined to meet modern needs. It’s not just a facelift – it’s a platform rebuilt for resilience, reach, and relevance.

In an era where data is abundant but clarity is rare, platforms like CyberSeek remind us: it’s not just about making information accessible, it’s about making it usable, trustworthy, and felt.

In the near future we’ll see smart features and integrations that could not be possible 10 years ago, hyper personalised insights, micro data drill downs and even richer media storytelling.
