London has certainly become a multicultural, multilingual metropolis, and this alternative Tube map from Oliver O’Brien, a researcher at UCL Department of Geography demonstrates this perfectly. Every station on the underground network has been colour-coded to visualise the the second most common language (after English) spoken by residents in that area, according to the 2011 census. So you will always know which phrase book to pack, wherever you intend to travel.
